Review: The Donner DEK-610 is ridiculously cheap but how good is it?

The Donner DEK-610 is a ridiculously cheap beginner keyboard that comes with many accessories that a beginner would usually need to get them started.



Built-in Features

The Donner DEK-610 comes with 61 keys and 3 lesson modes for beginners which is wonderful for learning. The keyboard has a USB MIDI connection for you to connect to your computer, your laptop, your phone, or your tablet to use with FL studios a GarageBand and you can plug in a USB thumb drive here with all your mp3s backing tracks to sing along with using the built-in stereo speakers or use the keyboard like a pair of portable speakers for your room. The DEK-610 comes with a pair of 4 inch, 20 watts stereo speakers, the speakers have one large cone and two tiny cones which produces quite a decent sound quality.


The Donner DEK-610 comes with multiple inputs and outputs. It has an auxiliary audio input to want to plug in a cable from your phone and play music found on your phone. There is also an auxiliary audio output if you want to connect to external speakers. As well as a sustain pedal input, a microphone input, and a headphone jack.


The DEK-610 has an inbuilt song recorder where it is simple to use. It also has an LCD which is nice and large but looks slightly outdated but does its job well.


There is a built-in metronome that comes with the keyboard. There are also buttons to adjust the tempo, accompaniment patterns, and the transpose.

The is also a play and stop, sync, and a fill button for your styles and the different chord modes. There are buttons for you to adjust the different chord modes easily without the need to dive deep when playing normally, multi-fingered, or with a single finger.


There is a sustain button if you do not have a sustain pedal, a drum kit button which instantly activates a drum kit to drum along with. You can also access the different styles or voices with the press of a button on the keyboard.



Accessories

The Donner DEK-610 comes included with a microphone. It not one of the highest quality but it's great for kids to have fun at home and sing along with the playing. The music rest that comes included for you to put your music books is sturdy and can hold heavier books.



It comes with a power adapter right out of the box which does not require spending additional money on getting one. You can operate this keyboard using batteries as well if you do not have access to a power outlet


The piano bench has three height adjustments and is really easy to set up. It is lightweight and easy to move around. The bench is durable and sturdy and can hold up to even 90 kilograms.


There is also a metal piano stand that is included which can be adjusted to

any height you want whether you are standing up to play or sitting down, there is an infinite number of adjustments.



Sound Quality

The Donner DEK-610 comes with 500 inbuilt voices. covering a wide range of different genres. Such as lead sounds, ethnic sounds, the usual piano, clarinet, and more. There are also 40 built-in songs that can be easily accessed through the song button. You also have the ability to layer two voices which is an amazing feature to get for a keyboard at this price point.


Conclusion

This keyboard is everything a beginner needs to get started with a whole plethora of features, voices, and styles. It comes decked with accessories so you would not need to spend more just to get started.
